Job Summary

This is an exciting and challenging temporary position supporting research projects within the Department of Cardiac Surgery?s Section of Health Services Research and Quality (HSRQ). The HSRQ is a nationally recognized leader in advancing clinical and health services research and improving the quality of care. The department is seeking additional support to advance both intra- and extramurally funded projects, contributing to its missions of research, quality improvement, and training.

In this role, the research assistant will provide critical support for current funded projects and the development of new research grant proposals. These projects focus on understanding the determinants and outcomes of cardiac rehabilitation, as well as evaluating the impact of telemedicine on the quality, outcomes, and costs of ambulatory care. Responsibilities include assisting with the development of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, contributing to grant proposals, and collaborating on various funded projects. This position offers opportunities to lead research efforts and work with esteemed colleagues across the University of Michigan and other academic institutions, providing a dynamic and rewarding experience in advancing cardiac care research.

Candidates must be motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to continue learning, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The position offers opportunities for skill development and to take on leadership roles in individual research projects.

Throughout the project lifecycle, the research assistant is expected to comply with all relevant human subject regulations, identify potential issues, and work with the project manager and study PI to resolve them.

This is considered a hybrid position.  Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
